Incase you did, we will take you through the process of claiming your Brand profile and explain it helps maximize your presence on Google search.
If you haven’t – don’t worry. Brand Profile is currently a beta feature by Google, and selected brands are being invited to claim their profiles before it rolls out fully.
What is Brand Profile?
Brand profile is a way to showcase your brand’s unique story and engage with potential customers. Online businesses can display accurate business information on their Brand profile including, company description, images, videos, shipping details, promotion offers.

Is the Brand profile similar to Google My Business?
Brand profile and Google My Business both appear on Google search when looking for a certain brand, however, they are not exactly the same. While a brand can have multiple Google My Business accounts for each store location, Brand profile is your company’s representation all across the globe. Both require accurate business information and act as marketing tools to reach relevant audiences.

Claiming the brand profile gives you access to edit the information about your company and enhance it for your viewers. Here are some of the key benefits:
- Showcasing engaging videos and images to your potential customers.
- Share up-to-date promotions and accurate shipping info to boost conversions.
- Viewers can click on the Follow button which enables them to get notifications for latest updates on your profile.
- Access performance insight, know what engages your customer and optimise accordingly.
Steps to Claim your Brand Profile
1. Login into your Google Merchant center account
2. On Google Merchant Center Next, on the left panel, under marketing, click on Brand
3. If you are the super admin, you’ll see this message: “You now manage the brand profile of the business”
4. If you’re not the super admin, you’ll see: “You don’t have access to edit brand content. Sign in as a super admin to make changes”. In this case, ask the super admin to upgrade your access.
Manage the Brand Profile
Once you have claimed the access, you will be able to manage the brand profile. Under this you may add/edit images, videos and company description.
For the company description you have three options:
- From the web (default): This description isautogenerated by Google based on information from your website and other reliable third party sources
- AI generated: This is again based on information from various sources
- Write your own description: This is the most ideal option. Share your brand story in your own words. It will be reviewed by Google before going live.
To add details like shipping, promotions, and view insights, search for your brand on Google while logged into the Gmail account linked to your Merchant Center.

Brand profile is a newly launched feature by Google which can be used to enhance your company’s presence on Google search. If you receive an invite to claim it, go ahead and manage your profile.
